Manufacturing
a brighter Future

Diamond Aircraft is developing an innovative, eco-conscious solution for the general aviation market with the eDA40, an all-electric aircraft based on their existing and certified DA40 platform. This carbon-responsible Diamond plane is designed to significantly reduce emissions and noise, making it a sustainable electric solution for future aviation.

The eDA40 is expected to reduce operating costs by up to 40% compared to traditional piston aircraft, with a total flight time of up to 90 minutes as battery technology evolves. Equipped with a DC fast charging system, the aircraft can be turned around in under 20 minutes. The eDA40 features a standard Garmin G1000 NXi glass cockpit and will be powered by Safran Electrical & Power’s ENGINeUSTM electric smart motor, which is set for certification in mid-2023. The first flights are scheduled for 2023, with certification expected by the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024.
