a brighter Future

Embraer was the first in the aviation industry to achieve the ISO 14001 standard and has implemented the Environmental Management System in its principal facilities since 2002. Embraer’s Environment, Health, and Safety at Work Policy outlines clear guidelines for eco-efficiency, supply chain engagement, product development with Design for the Environment in mind, and actions to minimize climate change.

Embraer’s Évora factory in Portugal has been recognized for its efforts to minimize environmental impacts, earning both Gold and Silver seals. Eco-efficiency measures include solar water heating, reduced compressed gas consumption, energy efficiency, and water reuse. In product development, Embraer’s DIPAS program focuses on Design for Environment strategies, managing the use of restricted materials, developing alternative technologies, and studying product life cycles. The program also works closely with sectors responsible for creating technology that reduces fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, noise, and maintenance costs, while improving operational efficiency and comfort for pilots and passengers in Embraer jets.
