the right sale
We appraise your aircraft thanks to the accurate data our team gather by operating in the marketplace daily. What is the aircraft realistically worth? What makes it stand out? Which aircraft will be its competitors, and at what price? We provide you with the essential information you need to make well-informed decisions.
Typically from 1 to 6 months. It all depends on your expectations, the specificity of the aircraft and the state of the market.
If you are not an aircraft Guru, you will likely lose some precious time and money by trying to cope with all technical, personal, financial and legal aspects of an international transaction. On top of that, you’ll have to deal with tire kickers along the way. Hiring a specialist that will have your best interests at heart will likely end up being more valuable. Beyond the skills and experience a good broker can bring to the table, it is important to avoid conflict of interest. Hiring someone whose interests may be different than yours (your pilot, operator, maintenance center etc.) may not be the wisest decision if you want your deal to close how it should.
We typically suggest an exclusive representation agreement as the foundation for our collaboration. An exclusive agreement ensures that we are the sole representative authorized to market your aircraft. This arrangement is advantageous because it aligns our interests with yours, fosters transparency, and demonstrates the seller’s seriousness to potential buyers. With an exclusive agreement in place, we can confidently invest our full efforts and resources into marketing, knowing that our endeavors won’t be undermined by another party.
One may think that not giving any exclusivity would create healthy competition between brokers to sell the aircraft, and competition is always beneficial, right? Well, if competition between buyers is beneficial, competition between brokers has another outcome. While being non-exclusive, the broker’s objective is to get the deal first, not right. Your aircraft will be marketed without registration marks (a red flag for buyers), at different prices (another red flag), and will eventually be labeled as “complicated” by buyers. Should you eventually make a deal, any extra money negotiated will likely end-up in the broker’s pocket instead of yours.
On the other hand, a professional broker will rather suggest a clear and attractive commission structure for exclusive listings, because it brings more than just a financial reward – it enhances the broker’s reputation, generates activity and attracts leads!
Our commission is based on a percentage of the sale price, so we have all interest in selling your aircraft as high as possible. It is a success fee that will be due only upon successful closing.
Marketing and travel expenses are included, as we invest in promoting your aircraft to sell it.
Legal and tax advice are not covered. Although we have gained practical knowledge and experience over the years, brokers are not qualified to provide legal or tax advice. Our team is happy to collaborate with your preferred advisor or connect you with aviation-experienced advisors to address legal and tax concerns.
Escrow fees are not covered. Depending on the transaction set up, escrow agents can be valuable partners to enhance trust and transparency between parties. The fee is typically shared equally between buyer and seller.
